Site-Wide Soils & Sediment
This remedial task includes the excavation of approximately 82,500 cubic yards of non-Holding Basin soils, sediments (bog and Cooling Water pond), underground drain lines, and debris exceeding cleanup levels and disposal of these materials at an approved off-site disposal facility.
Excavated areas will be backfilled with clean fill. Materials (waste, debris, etc.) previously disposed within the Old Landfill will be removed and transported off-site to an appropriate disposal facility. Soils underlying the Old Landfill will be tested and if they exceed the soil cleanup levels identified in the ROD, they will be excavated.
